Meet the Trainers: Michele Forto

Michele is the lead trainer of Alaska Dog Works and who you will be speaking to when you first talk to us about our training.

Michele holds a degree in kinesiology from the University of Alaska Anchorage and uses her knowledge in developing programs that are much different than other dog trainers around the country. She uses experiential learning to add to the experience and offer her clients a well-rounded approach to building the best relationship possible with their dogs. Michele is also enrolled in a master’s degree program at Liberty Univerity where she specializes in life coaching and sports management, both cohorts will allow her to add even more for her clients.

Michele began training dogs about 24 years ago. She is a certified dog trainer, evaluator for AKC Canine Good Citizen and is a member of the Foundation for Service Dog Support. Michele strives to assist every dog/client to achieve their training goals. Michele is the co-host of Dog Talk Radio where she offers tips & tricks as well as hot topics like banned breeds and service dog etiquette.

Talent: Keeps the peace

Michele has worked with clients from all over the United States and has trained serval service dogs for clients in other countries. She has worked with more than 100 breeds and her specialty is service and therapy dogs but loves working with families and their new puppies.

When she is not busy training or managing her hectic schedule she loves to travel with her husband Robert, baking, and working on her graduate degree!
